Crude futures rebound after hitting three-year-low

Crude futures rebounded slightly on Friday after hitting a new low in more than three years. Light, sweet crude for January delivery rose 51 cents to settle at 49.93 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange after dropping as low as 48.25 dollars, the level never seen since May 2005.
