CORRECT: Stocks turn lower as crude oil, energy sector slide

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks turned lower in afternoon trade Tuesday, as a firming dollar led crude oil prices and energy stocks to slide. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 95 points, or 0.9%, to 10,918, losing morning gains that earlier led the blue chip index to a high of 11,143. The S&P 500 index lost 13 points to 1194, while the Nasdaq Composite lost 13 points to 2,165. Crude oil futures sank $4.98, or 4.6%, to 104.39 a barrel.
