NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Oil prices lapsed Friday before a report expected to show U.S. economic growth slowed in the second quarter and after data earlier in the week showing an increase in U.S. supply. The crude contract for September delivery fell 53 cents to $77.83 a barrel in electronic trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
