NGP Energy Technology Partners Raised $348M To Invest In Alt Energy Startups

Providing further confidence that green tech investing is on the rebound. NGP Energy Technology Partners has raised $348M for a second fund to invest in alternative energy startups.The DC-based firm had raised $148M in 2005 and invested that in a dozen startups. Portfolio companies include Xunlight (amorphous silicon modules), Satcon Technology (solar panel inverters), GroSolar (solar distributor/installer), Southwest Windpower (small-scale wind turbines) and TPI Composites (wind turbine blades).NGP wants to invest $5M - $25M in established US-based alt energy companies with technology differnetiation.
